Frequently asked questions.

Here are some of the most common questions I'm asked. If you need more information, just get in touch.

I specialise in Maths from 11 plus through to GCSE, and Economics and Business at GCSE and A-Level.

AQA, Edexcel, Cambridge, OCR and iGCSE are all covered as standard. Other exam specifications are available on request — just ask if your child's board isn't listed.

Lessons are suitable for a wide range of abilities, from students needing extra support to those aiming for top grades. I've worked with over 80 students, including several with additional learning needs, and tailor each lesson to the individual.

Both. Lessons are delivered online via Zoom. In person lessons are available where a student lives within a close proximity to Bleasdale or Abersoch, but this should be discussed with Lucy prior to booking.

Lessons are available in 45-minute or 1-hour sessions. Longer sessions can be arranged on request, charged pro rata.

A 45-minute lesson is £35, and a 1-hour lesson is £45. Extended sessions are available on request at £45 per hour, pro rata.

All lessons are subject to a 24-hour cancellation policy. Upon booking a lesson, a pending payment will be set up. Payment will be taken 24 hours before the start time of the lesson. Where a lesson is cancelled with more than 24 hours' notice, the pending payment will be cancelled and no charge will occur. After this point, cancellations will not be refunded. Lessons can be cancelled using the cancellation link on your confirmation email.

Payment is handled securely online. Your card is saved securely via Stripe at the time of booking but isn't charged until 24 hours before your lesson. Your card is charged automatically 24hrs before the start time of each lesson — no need to arrange payment separately each time.

Every lesson includes personalised planning and carefully selected resources, with lesson notes shared afterwards so students can review what was covered. No mandatory homework is set, students get enough of that from school, but practice questions can be issued to complete at home and marked by Lucy if requested.

Lucy holds a First Class Honours degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol, is DBS checked, and has delivered over 900 hours of tutoring to more than 80 students over four years, maintaining a 5.0 rating across platforms. She attained A,A,A in Maths, Economics and Business A-level.

Get in touch through the enquiry form on the website, or book directly online.

Of course, Lucy offers 15 minute free Zoom meetings for prospective parents. The link to book one of these meetings can be found in the enquiry section of the website. During these meetings you can discuss your child's needs in more detail and ask any questions you may have. If you would prefer to WhatsApp or email Lucy with your questions, the enquiry section also has links to Lucy's email address, phone number and WhatsApp.

Upon booking a slot, your card details are securely saved but your card is not charged until 24 hours before the start time of your lesson. You can safely book multiple sessions at once — payment will only be taken 24 hours before each individual lesson, so you won't be charged upfront for sessions that haven't happened yet.
